Full Synopsis

A young boy by the name of Michael Bennett gets dropped off by his mother at his grandparents' house. Michael knows very little about his grandparents and he's only doing this because his mother has to go on a business trip and has nobody else to watch him.

While at his grandparents' house, late one night, Michael is awoken by the sound of a voice calling out to him. He searches the large house but is unable to locate where the mysterious voice is coming from.

The next day, Michael's grandparents, Earl and Ethel, inform him that they have invited their close friends to a pool part so he could meet some more kids around his age.

That night, after the pool party, Michael relaxes in the den, reading a book, when he hears the voice calling out to him again. He suddenly realizes that the voice is originating from the unlit fireplace. He slowly moves in and looks deep within the darkness of the fireplace when a sudden flash of brilliant light is seen. And in the blink of an eye, he is gone.

Much to Michael's amazement, he realizes that he is no longer in his grandparents' home. Instead, he is now in what looks like a dry and desolate forest. Bewildered, he looks up and observes three moons hanging in the sky. And to his surprise, he is not alone. He runs into the other kids from the pool party who were also transported into this dark and magical place.

While on their journey, the kids encounter familiar animals from their world—some friendly and some not so friendly. And surprisingly, these animals have the ability to speak.

The kids also encounter an unfamiliar creature that is only known to them in fictional stories: a mini unicorn. In addition, they come across a mysterious young girl who lives alone in the woods by the name of Rosalia.

Meanwhile the parents of the missing kids gather at Earl and Ethel's house. They know that the disappearance of their kids is no accident or coincidence. it is revealed that Michael's grandparents and their friends are part of an elite group of witches and wizards. And within that group was a sorcerer by the name of Norvik.

Long ago, the group of good witches and wizards had decided to banish Norvik to a world known as Vandor. They knew that if they did not, he would grow stronger and use his powers for evil. But unknown to them, Norvik had met a supreme witch in Vandor by the name of Leonora. She had also been banished to this world long ago.

Norvik and Leonora's plan is to use the kids in the hopes that they can lure them into Vandor and trap them into the very world in which they were exiled to. The goal would be to find a way to return to the world where Norvik once inhabited: the human world.

Earl calls on one of his ancient friends by the name of Tobias. Tobias appears and conjures a door which is a portal to the different world including Vandor. Tobias warns them that once they walk through it and arrive in Vandor, the portal will close and then open up again for only a brief moment. And if they're not there at that time, the portal will close permanently, and they will be trapped in Vandor forever. Although the parents know that it's extremely dangerous and a trap, they have no other choice than to go and try to save their kids.

Meanwhile, back in Vandor, Rosalia reveals that her parents are Norvik and Leonora. Once she discovered their cruel and evil ways, she fled into the woods and has been hiding from them ever since.

Rosalia decides to join Michael and his friends because her dream is to leave Vandor behind and find a better life in another world. And this could be her only chance.

A lot of questions still remain: Will the kids be able to reunite with their loved ones in Vandor? What other big surprise will Michael discover in this world? Most importantly, will they be able to stop Norvik and Leonora? And lastly, will they be able to find their way home or will they be trapped in the world of Vandor forever?
