Laguna Inn

Logline

On the 25th anniversary of their parents’ mysterious disappearance, two estranged siblings return to a decaying seaside hotel—only to uncover a supernatural portal tied to a decades-old ritual that may still be holding their parents captive… or something far worse.

Full Synopsis

Twenty-five years after their parents vanished without a trace, siblings Matt and April Howard reunite at the abandoned Laguna Inn—the last place their family was seen together. Still haunted by fragmented memories and recurring nightmares, Matt is convinced the truth lies within the hotel’s walls, while April fears reopening wounds that never healed.

Inside the decaying inn, strange occurrences quickly escalate—whispers in the halls, visions in mirrors, and flashes of the past bleeding into the present. Their search draws the attention of Deputy Kenny, who reluctantly points them toward Elsa Moore, a former employee who witnessed the aftermath of their parents’ disappearance. Elsa reveals that the hotel’s dark reputation didn’t begin until that night—and that something unnatural has lingered ever since.

Desperate for answers, the group enlists Luther Jenkins, a reclusive and unstable medium who once communicated with the spirit world but abandoned it at great personal cost. As they return to the hotel together, the supernatural force within begins to take hold, trapping them in terrifying hallucinations fueled by guilt, trauma, and fear.

Digging through old records, they uncover a chilling connection: Sheriff Wade—now the town’s top lawman—was staying in the same room the night before the Howards arrived. Confronted, Wade is forced to reveal a buried past involving a forbidden ritual, a missing lover, and a portal to another realm accidentally opened decades ago.

That night, Matt and April’s parents were not taken—they were pulled into that portal.

Now, with the boundary between worlds weakening, the group must decide whether to reopen the gateway and attempt a rescue… knowing it could unleash something far more dangerous into their world. As malevolent entities fight to remain free, the line between salvation and damnation blurs—and the truth may cost them everything.
