Full Synopsis

Highway 9 is a psychological thriller that explores guilt, control, and the consequences of one irreversible mistake.

Jonathan and Diane Carver appear to have it all: a thriving medical practice, a loving marriage, and a respected place in their community. But beneath the surface, Jonathan hides a dangerous addiction. After a lavish fundraiser hosted by powerful local elites, the couple’s drive home takes a dark turn when Jonathan, impaired, hits a man on a remote highway.

The victim is alive—but instead of calling for help, Jonathan panics. Fearing exposure, prison, and the loss of everything they’ve built, he persuades Diane to bring the injured man home and treat him in secret. Reluctantly, she agrees.

What begins as a desperate attempt to “fix” a mistake becomes a psychological descent. The victim remains in a coma. A local sheriff begins investigating. A neighbor may have witnessed something. And Jonathan’s addiction intensifies, blurring the line between reality and hallucination.

As tension mounts, a shocking murder—Jonathan’s own father—deepens the mystery and raises unsettling questions. Is someone watching them? Is this coincidence—or consequence?

Trapped in a tightening web of lies, fear, and moral compromise, Jonathan and Diane are forced to confront the true cost of their decision. Because on Highway 9, the real danger isn’t the accident—it’s what they chose to do after.

Desperate, they attempt unsuccessfully to rid themselves of this curse. Diane learns much later that everything that has happened wasn't a coincidence. She realizes it is a struggle of life and death against an inhuman force bent on taking over Jonathan's body. Diane and Jonathan must stop the curse before it’s too late.
